如果你想說某個地方「有」什麼東西，可以用 there is 或 there are。
基本概念
There is a book on the desk. 桌上有一本書。
There are two books on the desk. 桌上有兩本書。
後面如果是單數名詞，多半用 there is；如果是複數名詞，多半用 there are。

常見錯誤
錯誤 1：單數複數配錯
There are a dog in the park.
There is a dog in the park.
a dog 是單數，所以用 is。
錯誤 2：複數還用 is
There is three apples on the table.
There are three apples on the table.
three apples 是複數，所以用 are。
錯誤 3：問句順序錯誤
There is a cat under the chair?
Is there a cat under the chair?
問句要把 is / are 放到 there 前面。

There is + 單數名詞 + 地點
There is a pencil in my bag.
There are + 複數名詞 + 地點
There are two boys in the room.
問句：Is / Are there + 名詞 ... ?
Is there a library near here? / Are there any chairs?
